Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Interappy, LLC (“Interappy,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use Chalk It Up (the “App”), our conversational AI coaching app for functional-fitness athletes. The App’s AI coach is named “Kip.”
By using Chalk It Up, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
We are a small US-based studio. The App is currently offered to athletes in the United States only, and during our beta is not available to residents of Washington or Nevada.
1. Who we are
Chalk It Up is operated by Interappy, LLC. For any privacy question or request, contact us at daniela@interappy.io.
2. The short version
- We collect what you tell us (your profile, your training data, and your conversations with Kip) and use it to give you personalized coaching.
- We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the App and power the AI. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
- Your conversations are private to your account. The only humans who may review them are the people who build and operate Chalk It Up, for quality and safety.
- You can permanently delete your account and all of your data from inside the App at any time.
3. Information we collect
We collect the following, all of which you provide or generate by using the App:
Account information
- Your email address (used to sign you in and to send your one-time login codes).
- Your name and, optionally, your gym’s name.
Profile and training information you enter
- Experience level, training days per week, goals, what’s holding you back.
- Limitations and injuries you choose to share so Kip can coach you safely.
- Your lifts, benchmark results, workout (WOD) entries, and logged performances.
- Screenshots of workouts you upload for parsing (for example, a photo of the gym whiteboard), and any training history you import (for example, a SugarWOD CSV export).
Your conversations with Kip
- The free-text messages you send to Kip and the responses Kip generates.
An AI-built coaching profile (“Memory”)
- As you use the App, Kip builds a structured profile of you: your goals, training patterns, recurring themes, and noted limitations or injuries, so its coaching gets sharper over time. This profile is generated automatically from your conversations and training data. It is used only to coach you. It is not a decision that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Device and notification information
- A push-notification token (if you enable notifications) so we can send you daily briefs and coaching messages.
- Your notification preference.
We do not collect payment information in this version of the App, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
4. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Generate personalized coaching: daily briefs, chat responses, and proactive messages from Kip.
- Build and maintain your Memory profile so coaching improves over time.
- Send you notifications you’ve enabled.
- Operate, debug, monitor, and improve the App, including reviewing conversations for quality and safety (see Section 6).
- Respond to your requests and comply with legal obligations.
We do notsell or “share” your personal information (as those terms are defined under California law), and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Service providers who process your data
We use a small set of trusted providers (“processors”) to run the App. They process your data only to provide their service to us, under contract, and not for their own purposes.
| Provider | What it does | What it processes |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Hosts our database, authentication, and file storage (US). | All of your account, profile, training data, conversations, and uploaded images. |
| OpenAI | Powers Kip’s coaching, brief generation, and workout-screenshot parsing. | The text and images we send to generate a response: your messages, profile context, and uploaded workout images. Workout screenshots you upload are sent to OpenAI’s vision model to read and parse the workout, and we use them only for that purpose. OpenAI does not use API content to train its models, and standard API content may be retained transiently for abuse monitoring; separate org or endpoint-level arrangements may apply for zero-retention handling. |
| Expo | Delivers push notifications (Expo Application Services). | Your device push token and the title and body of the notifications we send you (coaching messages and daily-brief summaries). Apple’s delivery network (APNs) is covered by the Apple Developer Agreement. |
| Langfuse | Observability: lets us review and debug Kip’s behavior. | The content of AI interactions, which can include your chat and onboarding text. Hosted in the US, retained for approximately 30 days. |
| Resend | Sends transactional email. | Your email address, to deliver your one-time sign-in codes. |
We may change providers as the App evolves and will update this Policy accordingly.
6. Who can see your conversations
Your conversations and profile are private to your account. They are not visible to other users.
The only people who may review your conversations are members of the Chalk It Up team (currently the App’s creator, Daniela, and our coaching advisor, Heather) for the limited purposes of quality, safety, and improving the coaching. We treat this content as sensitive.
7. Health-adjacent and sensitive information
Some of what you share, such as injuries, physical limitations, and training data, is sensitive. We treat it as a sensitive category and use it only to coach you. Chalk It Up is not a medical provider, and this information is not subject to HIPAA. Kip is an AI and does not provide medical advice. See our Terms of Service and the in-app disclaimer.
8. Consumer health data, and Washington and Nevada
The injury, physical-limitation, and training information you share is sensitive. Some states, including Washington (the My Health My Data Act) and Nevada, regulate this kind of “consumer health data” with specific requirements that go beyond a general privacy policy.
During our beta, Chalk It Up is not available to residents of Washington or Nevada, and we ask residents of those states not to sign up. If we learn that we have collected consumer health data from a resident of those states, we will delete it.
For all other US users, we treat your injury and limitation information as sensitive consumer health data:
- We collect it only because you choose to provide it, so Kip can coach you safely.
- We use it solely to provide and improve your coaching. We do not sell it, and we do not share it for advertising or any unrelated purpose.
- We do not share it with third parties except the service providers in Section 5, who process it only to run the App on our behalf.
- You can delete it at any time by deleting your account (Section 10), or contact us to access or delete specific information.
By providing injury or limitation information in the App, you consent to our collecting and using it for these purposes.
9. How long we keep your data
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account (see Section 10), we delete your data as described there. Our observability provider (Langfuse) retains AI-interaction content for approximately 30 days. OpenAI does not use API content to train its models and retains it only transiently for abuse monitoring.
10. Deleting your account and data
You can permanently delete your account at any time from inside the App: go to the You screen, then Delete account. This immediately and permanently deletes your account and all associated data: your profile, workouts, logged numbers, briefs, your Memory profile, and every conversation with Kip, from our database. We also purge the associated AI-interaction records from our observability provider. This cannot be undone.
If you have trouble deleting your account in-app, email daniela@interappy.io and we will delete it for you.
11. Your privacy rights
Because the App is offered in the United States, the following applies primarily to California residents under the CCPA/CPRA, though we extend the core of it to all US users:
- Right to know / access: You can ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Right to delete: You can delete your account and data at any time (Section 10).
- Right to correct: You can edit your profile in-app, or contact us.
- No sale or sharing: We do not sell or share your personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
- No discrimination: We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
A self-serve data export(“download my data”) is not yet available in the App. To request a copy of your data, email daniela@interappy.io and we will respond.
To exercise any right, contact daniela@interappy.io. We may need to verify your request against the email on your account.
12. Children
Chalk It Up is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact daniela@interappy.io and we will delete it.
13. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted transport and access controls on our database. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit who can access it.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as the App evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App.
